Trippin' North

Be Free, Melbourne Street Art and Surface POP  just returned from a road Trip to NSW, Queensland and the Gold Coast.

We got up early in the middle of the night
for missions
to catch planes
we ate on the go
drank to much coffee
had lunch with Shida, Beastman & Jae Copp in Surfers
we scoped spots
and got yelled at
we caught trains
buses
hailed taxes
moaned about the cost
walked a million miles
got lost
found our way
GPS became our best allie
made awesome new friends
saw a load of art
made a movie
took some photos
went to galleries
made some epic possibilities
laughed
cried
felt content
contemplated
planned
told a million stories
felt inspired
got impressed
got unimpressed
fall asleep in weird places
found ourselves in unusual circumstances
saw many alleyways
meet alley people
made art
swapped art
took risks
played it safe
watched the sun rise
soaked in the warmth
shivered in the cold

all in 4 days

PIX SETS - Fibre FEMMES - All Female Paste up & Stencil Exhibition -

Its been almost 3 weeks since we opened the door at our new gallery and featured a killer debut exhibition

There has been so many amazing sets of photos up and blog posts, and I feel the need to archive them all in one place.......

Here's the links to all the photostreams with props to the peeps who supported us.

Our posse over at INVURT did an entire week of interviews with our femmes, one per day as a lead up to the opening, you can read them all HERE - just click on each link that will take to straight to INVURTS page, BTW this is a blog well worth checking everyday.

Melbourne Street Art who made us an awesome promo video
created this SET taken with a fish eye lens, really lush pix.
Send MSA a friends add on Facey, you will keep in the Street Art loop through your newsfeed if you do.

Dean Sunshine master of Street Art Archiving, created this awesome SET of pix, nice and large and easy to view - his is a blog to follow, as Dean is more often then not the first on the scene - like a street art forensic photographer!

Fitzroy Flasher whom I think most of us are MASSIVE fans off created this beautiful creative SET, all in sepia tones, Flashers blog is well worth following, one of my tops...

Roger Hyland is an extremely passionate and avid follower of street art - his beautiful photo Flickr SET of Fibre FEMMES can be seen HERE

I'm not sure who rocket101 is but chur bro for your photostream!

Chasing Ghosts London Street Art documentors Flikr SET

And our very own Kaff-eine's flickr SET - beautiful

The promotions that we are trying to organise for the donating artists include poster promotion, Radio interviews on 3CR and RRR and maybe PBS. We will also be writing articles for news papers and gathering comments from the artists.

I have a real personal belief in the cause, as my background is in Traditional Healthcare, Shiatsu, Oriental, Therapies and Yoga, I was already a member of this group before Melbourne Street Art approached Surface POP to be involved, it just feels so amazing to have two of my loves meshing, Street Art and spreading the love for Traditional Healthcare World wide!

Check out this link: Traditional Healthcare in INDIA from 2009 to see what incredible work these guys are up too - it totally blows my mind.

You can also join their facey page Traditional Healthcare Inc.

AND the event page for the Street Art Auction, that includes MC's and DJ's, prizes and cheap booze Bricks Beats and Pockets - A Traditional Healthcare Fundraiser Event
