Fixie single speeds bikes

It might seem like a strange thing to have in a design/gallery showroom, but given half the change Aaron will brand or decorate anything, guess that's part of our ultimate plan and also to bring in that feeling for how we see space and living  :)
Our 13yr old son Dylan who has already acquired a domain name for his own skate & clothing brand "known" & Aaron both embarked on a Christmas venture last year to build and paint a Fixie single speed,  there was a lot of talk about colour, old school seats and 10 speed handles -  these pix show the end result, and  in saying all that, we will have 2 custom build Fixies in the showroom for sale from Le Contraste.

                                                                                 

Scout textiles

Tamara Bell is an Architect & Textile designer who has released this cheerful summer inspired range of handmade and designed Duvet covers in King, Queen, Double and Single. I have one myself in green and love it! There are plans afoot for Tamara to create more beautiful textile product - but for now, we are very happy to have her range in the showroom, I'm thinking Chrissy presents? what about you?

cool rooms vibe

I'm very excited to say that we have on board in the showroom/ store aspect of 'Surface' Rick from The Cool Room's  own NEW amazing range of contemporary designer industrial furniture, I personally love it, its clean lines and recycled timber give this product the ability to fit into any style of home or commercial space. 
I'll get pix up on the blog as soon as we have all out product in the space next week!


So we will have the doors open for business next weekend at Surface exhibition and pop-up shop 11-13 carlisle St St Kilda.

art so far

Things are moving so fast!

We are so excited to have come on board with us on our project and vision Mariella laConte from art so far – a superb and experienced curator and arts manager. She has vast experience in the arts world having many well known and up and coming artists in her care.  Mariella will be heading our gallery aspect of Surface, and there will be a load of talent to come see at the space, on an ongoing regular basis, Openings will be posted on this blog, facebook and sent out via email as we collect and crank our database.

There’s a lot we are sill ironing out and planning and in a way the whole idea of the POP-UP is a work in progress and the transient vibrancy that makes it what it is.
